Pineda <br />Westminster, CO 80021 Director <br />Re: Bluestone Pit (North), Permit No. M-1991-035, Notice of Temporary Cessation TC-1 <br />Dear Mr. Ray: <br />Our review of the Annual Report submitted to the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety <br />(Division) by Lafarge West, Inc. (Lafarge) on 30 November 2010 for the Bluestone Pit (North) <br />indicates that there has been no activity at the site for more than one year. Therefore, based on Rule <br />1. 13.2 of the Construction Materials Rules, Indications of Temporary Cessation, Lafarge must file <br />with the Division a Notice of Temporary Cessation for file no. M-1991-035 or submit evidence of <br />mining activity in the past year. In accordance with Rule 1.13.5(2), the Notice must include the <br />following information: <br />1) The date of cessation. <br />2) The reasons for nonproduction or cessation of the mining operation. <br />3) A plan for resumption of production. <br />4) Measures to be taken to comply with reclamation requirements and/or other activities related to <br />the performance standards of Section 3.1 of the Construction Materials Rules while the <br />mine is in Temporary Cessation. <br />5) Demonstration that the existing Financial Warranty is adequate to cover the reclamation <br />liability. <br />The Notice must also include a fee of $144.
