S31-T3N-R67W <br />WATER DIVISION 1, WATER DISTRICT 5 <br />Dear Garrett: <br />The purpose of this letter is to approve the lining of the Dakolios West Pit. This pit is <br />located'in the. NW% of-the SWY4 of Section 31, Township 3 North, Range 67 West and is a <br />part of the Dakolios Project (DRMS M1984-036). Dakolios West was decreed in Case No. <br />01 CW274 as a part of the Dakolios. Reservoirs (WDID 0504003). The compacted clay liner <br />test commenced August 2, 2010 and concluded on October 31, 2010. A site inspection <br />was performed by our office on October 26, 2010 to review site conditions and the leak test <br />plan. <br />Your report dated December 16, 2010 provides the liner summary and 90-day leak test <br />result. The test data provided indicates that the pit has been lined to the design <br />standard referenced in the August 1999 State Engineer Guidelines for Lining Criteria. for <br />Gravel Pits (1999 SEO Guidelines). Meeting the design standard requires that all water <br />inflows and outflows for the liner perimeter enclosed area must be accounted for on <br />a monthly basis. <br />With this liner approval, Dakolios West Lined Pit may be used to store water in accordance <br />with the 1999 SEO Guidelines. Prior to ANY use of this site, the owner or operator will <br />need to coordinate with Shera Sumerford, District 5 Water Commissioner, to review <br />operations and accounting. <br />Please contact me at the number below if you have any questions. <br />Sincerely, <br />Jonathan M.
