Please
be advised that if you are unable to satisfactorily address any concerns identified in this
review before the decision date, it will be your responsibility to request an extension of the
review period. If there are outstanding issues that have not been adequately addressed
prior to the end of the review period, and no extension has been requested, the Division will
deny this application.
6.4.4 Exhibit D - Mining Plan
1. The Applicant has indicated the mining face will be near vertical during the wet mining
phase of the operation. Please indicate the maximum depth of the excavation upon
completion of the wet mining phase.
2. Please provide a detailed description of the mining methods which will be used to reduce the
vertical highwalls to a 3H: IV slope during dry mining operations.
6.4.12 Exhibit L - Reclamation Costs
3. The Applicant's reclamation cost estimate does not include a cost for grading the vertical
mining face to 3H:1 V for Phases 2-4. The Division must bond for the worst-case scenario for
each phase of mining. If the Division had to reclaim the site at the end of wet mining
Operations for Phases 2-4, then the vertical mining face would be need to be graded to
3H: IV. Please revise the reclamation cost estimate to include grading for Phases 2-4 or
provide justification for omitting this cost.
Office of Office of
Mined Land Reclamation Denver • Grand Junction -• Durango Active and Inactive Mines
