The Little Snake Field Office (LSFO) staff has determined that the acceptance of this
partial relinquishment will not impair the public interest. They have determined that the partial
relinquishment will not affect the obligations of the lessee or the terms of the lease. The Bureau of Ocean
Energy Mgmt Regulation & Enforcement (BOEMRE) reports the lease is in good standing. Therefore,
pursuant to the regulations found at 43 CFR 3452.1-1, the partial relinquishment of coal lease COD-
34365 is accepted effective July 6, 2010, the date of the filing.
The periods of liability under the Logical Mining Unit (LMU) (COC-57194) bond no. in the
amount of $3,083,000 for the LMU leases having Colowyo Coal Company LP as principal and Liberty
Mutual Insurance Company as surety will stay in effect, the bond amount may be adjusted in the future.
The LSFO Resource Area Manager should be contacted to determine the decrease in the commercial
quantities amount for diligent development/continued operation.
?- Q cf r
Charlie Beecham, PE
Chief, Branch of Solid Minerals
Division of Energy, Lands and Minerals
Enclosure:
Memorandum of approval from LSFO
cc:
FOM, LSFO
BOEMRE
OSM
CDRMS
