STATE OF COLORADO
DIVISION OF RECLAMATION, MINING AND SAFETY p 6 2
Department of Natural Resources a j w Gr
1313 Sherman St., Room 215
Denver, Colorado 80203 o COLORADO
o N Phone: (303) 866-3567 RECLAMATION
FAX: (303) 832-8106 MINING
SAFETY
8 October 2010
Ms. Anne Best Johnson
Land Manager
Lafarge North America
10170 Church Ranch Way, Suite 200
Westminster, CO 80021
Re: M&G Poly Mann Pit, Permit No. M-1986-079, Approval of Surety Reduction Request SR-3
Dear Ms. Johnson:
On 8 October 2010, the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (Division) approved your Financial Warranty
reduction request SR-3 for the M&G Poly Mann site. The new Financial Warranty calculated by the Division for the
remaining reclamation liability at the site is $9,700. The worksheets supporting this calculation are attached. This is a
reduction of $670,966 from the existing financial warranty amount of $680,666. This decision reduces the amount of the
financial warranty, but does not approve any release of reclamation responsibility for the tasks associated with this
request.
Please provide a rider to the current Financial Warranty, or submit a new Financial Warranty reflecting this reduction. If
you wish to submit a different type of Financial Warranty, please contact our office for the applicable form.
As agreed during our on-site meeting 4 October 2010, there are three reclamation tasks remaining before the site will be
in a condition for full release: 1) reshaping the lakeshore as needed to attain 3:1 slopes, 2) weed abatement, and 3)
revegetation of the areas that did not successfully re-establish from the initial seeding effort.
After these tasks have been completed and the reclamation meets the Division's performance standards, then you may
submit a request for full release of the performance and financial warranties.
If you have any questions, please contact me at (303) 866-3567, x8108.
Sincerely,
David Bird
Reclamation Specialist
cc: Tony Waldron, DRMS
Mary Rodriquez, DRMS
Office of Office of
Mined Land Reclamation Denver • Grand Junction • Durango Active and Inactive Mines
