Pineda <br />Director <br />The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (Division) has reviewed the content of the Mountain <br />Park Concrete, Inc:. 112c permit conversion application adequacy response dated August 18, 2010 for <br />the Parshall Pit, File No. M-1998-034, and submits the following comments. <br />The Division is required to make an approval or denial decision no later than October 6, 2010 <br />therefore; a response to the following second adequacy review concerns should be submitted to the <br />Division as soon as possible. <br />6.4.4 Exhibit D - Mining Plan <br />1. The Applicant states the Operator will provide the proper permit(s) for building the East to West <br />drainage crossing when the time comes to construct the crossing. Please commit to submitting a <br />technical revision to the permit, per Rule 1.9, to provide the Division design specifications regarding <br />the crossing construction prior to initiating construction of the drainage crossing. - --??- <br />6.4.5 Exhibit E - Reclamation Plan <br />2. The Applicant committed to salvaging enough topsoil to cover 4" to 6" of topsoil which will be <br />about 16,000 cubic yards for reclamation. However, the Applicant is not able to commit to <br />salvaging all of the topsoil for reclamation. The Division estimates a minimum of 28,100 cubic <br />yards of topsoil will be required to cover the proposed 42.43 acres of disturbance with 4" to 6" of <br />topsoil. Please, commit to salvaging a minimum of 28,100 cubic yards of topsoil for reclamation of <br />the Parshall Pit:. <br />Office of Office of <br />Mined Land Reclamation Denver • Grand Junction • Durango Active and Inactive Mines
