The
revision was called complete on September 17, 2010. The decision due date is September 27, 2010.
In Minor Revision No. 125, Bowie Resources LLC (BRL) is proposing to drill two gob vent boreholes in
areas about 2000 feet west of Terror Creek and about 1 to 1 1/3 miles south of the West Fork of Terror
Creek. Currently, the areas are within the Bowie No. 1 Mine permit area but are proposed to be
transferred to the Bowie No. 2 Mine through Permit Revision No. 12.
The project will disturb a total of 3.1 acres; 1.0 acres each for two drill pads and 1.1 acres for two new
light use roads. The new roads and drill pads, mostly located on land owned by BRL but with a portion of
one road located on land managed by the BLM, will be reclaimed after use. Access to the areas will be up
Steven's Draw road from the mine, down the Terror Creek access road and, then, south on the Terror
Creek road. Topsoil will be salvaged and drill cuttings will be temporarily placed in pits. Berms, ditches
and silt fence will provide sediment control for the drill pads.
If you have any questions, please contact me.
Sincerely,
l
4vinvironmental eph J. dash
Protection Specialist
cc: Richard Rudin
C-CI-01 C1981038 JJD 09162010111413.doc
Office of Office of
Mined Land Reclamation Denver • Grand Junction • Durango Active and Inactive Mines
