BLM offered no comment regarding concerns or objections within
15 days of the DRMS notice letter for TR-67 dated July 20, 2010 which allowed DRMS to
proceed. Construction of the shaft on an existing federal coal lease is necessary to conduct
coal mining, which actions the lease authorizes with stipulations already attached to the
lease.
MR-125
I have received the BRL application package but do not have a notice from DRMS. My only
question is in regard to existing roads shown on the MR-125 map which do not match the single
existing road shown in figure 2 of an EA BLM recently analyzed for the Spruce Stomp coal
exploration license COC74235. That EA is posted on our UFO website at:
http://www.blm.gov/co/st/en/BLM Information/nepa/ufo.html (Look for the
2010-0017 EA in left column). Figure 2 is on page 5. Regardless of the location of the
existing road, the temporary roads required to reach the drill sites from the existing route
and the sites and drill holes have the same necessary purpose and authorization as the shaft.
BLM will not object to their construction and use.
Desty Dyer, Mining Engineer
BLM - UFO
"Jim Stover"
<jestover@bresnan
.net>
09/15/2010 12:38
PM
Please respond to
<jestover@bresnan
.net>
Desty:
"Desty Dyer" <ddyer(@co.blm.gov>
TR-67 and MR-125
To
cc
Subject
Can you send BLM's concurrence for the Terror Creek shaft and the Two Gob Vent holes.
1
