This is a historical site that originated from a rock slide, the tongue of
which came into the meadow. Rock from this site was used in the foundations of the 100 year old
homestead buildings and in the building of the historical dikes. We organized the site for better access to
the stone for ranch projects such as building up the road way edges where stone was needed for support,
setting rock into the stream banks along the dike by the adjacent trout ponds, securing the historical dike
along Devil Creek before Canyon Sand and Gravel came into existence, and for construction of the wall and
kiva at the north end of the CSG lake. There is a historical pond that washed out by flooding on the west
branch of the ranch and much of the small "rip-rap" will be used to stabilize its banks. Some of the large
beautiful rock will be used in finishing the landscaping of the island. The site is in this process being
prepped for a house site set back into the space which creates a SW exposure and beautiful view without
taking up any of the adjacent meadow.
There is a great deal of larger stone that is separated out of the raw material in the gravel pit during the
prepping of the material that is to be crushed. That stone is put into piles by size and is for sale in the pit's
stockpile area.
If any more information is needed contact me. My phone number is 731-4707.
Sincerely,
Robert Scott
Canyon Sand and Gravel - Ownerr erator
