Broken Arrow Investments, LLC - Derr Pit - Technical Revision No. 1 Request <br />File No. M-2008-017 <br />Dear Mr. Cunningham, <br />Broken Arrow Investments, LLC requests a revision to their existing permit to address the following 3 <br />items: <br />1. Mining Plan: Revision of the mine phasing to revise phases 2-7 by combining areas and <br />reducing the number of phases from seven to five once groundwater is exposed. <br />2. Mining Methods: Revision of the method of mining from dry mining by dewatering to wet mining <br />without dewatering prior to the installation of the slurry wall. <br />3. Reclamation Bond: Revision of the financial warranty required for the reclamation of each <br />phase of mining. <br />Detailed descriptions of these revisions are in the following sections. <br />Mining Plan: Revision of the mine phasing to reduce number of phases from seven to five. <br />Phase 1A-1C will continue to be surface mining only. All mining in Phase 1A-1C will continue to occur <br />above groundwater levels to an estimated mining depth of 6 feet. No groundwater will be exposed <br />during this phase of mining. <br />Phases 2-7 will be revised to combine portions of each phase to decrease the number of phases. The <br />number of phases will decrease to five phases. The revised phases as shown in the attached exhibit <br />will be Phases 2-5. <br />Attached is a revised Exhibit C - Pre-Mining/Mining Plan map that shows the location of the revised <br />Phase 2-5 areas and the existing Phase 1A-1C. <br />Minina Methods: Revision of the method of mining prior to the installation of a slurry wall from <br />dry mining by dewatering to wet mining without dewatering. <br />The deposit will be wet mined prior to installation of a slurry wall. <br />6 SO, 1400 W 122nd Avenue - Suite 120 - Westminster CO 80234 - Ph: 303-457-0735 - Fax: 303-920-0343
