Dear Routt County Commissioners:
The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety issued Mining Permit No. C-2009-087 on August 20,
2010, allowing coal mining and reclamation operations at the Peabody Sage Creek Mine, under the provisions of
the Colorado Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act of 1979. The permit was issued to Sage Creek Coal
Company, LLC for their mining operation located in Routt County, approximately 9 miles southeast of Hayden.
Copies of the proposed decision and permit are available at the Routt County Courthouse, and at the Colorado
Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety, Centennial Building, Room 215, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver,
