Permit C-81-012 renewal was <br />approved by the Division on April 13, 2009. For filing purposes, this <br />Eachnical revision application was deemed complete by the Division on <br />The New Elk Mine is located approximately 7 miles west of Weston, <br />Colorado on State Hwy. 12, within Sections 13, 14, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, <br />28, 27 and 28, TS33S, R68W. These sections can be located on the <br />USGS 7.5 minute Vigil and Weston quadrangle maps. A total of 193.6 <br />acres of surface disturbance from mining related activity is covered by a <br />Letter of Credit Bond and Cash Bond in the amount of $2,946,786.00. <br />The technical revision provides for the temporary storage of Develop- <br />ment Waste Rock from the New Elk Mine until a permanent disposal <br />area can be accessed or permitted. Storage volume is not to exceed <br />10,000 cubic yards. <br />The technical .revision is on file.-for public inspection at the Las Animas <br />County . Courthouse, Office" of County Recorder and with the Division of <br />Minerals and Geology.
