Sherman
Executive Director
Ronald W. Cattany
Division Director
Natural Resource Trustee
Please find enclosed the Final Reclamation Liability Estimate prepared by DRMS staff for the above
referenced amendment (AM-03). Overall the tasks are similar to those approved in 2000 with a
technical revision which holds with expansion plans. Updates on all tasks show inflation, plus there is
more than 20 acres of surface area currently disturbed. Please review the estimate and contact staff
immediately if there are any discrepancies or errors that might affect the overall costs. If United
accepts the estimate, staff will need acceptance correspondence by phone or e-mail with a hard copy in
the mail as soon as possible. If United wishes additional time to review the estimate beyond February
19, 2010 an extension request will be necessary to finish up the process.
If you need additional information please contact me at the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety,
Grand Junction Field Office, 101 S. 3rd St., Suite 301, Grand Junction, Colorado 81501, or by telephone
no. 970.241.1117.
Sincerely,
C
G.
