Sherman
Executive Director
Ronald W. Cattany
Division Director
Natural Resource Trustee
The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety has received a revision for the Bowie No. 2 Mine. The
revision was called complete on December 27, 2007. The decision due date is February 25, 2008.
In Technical Revision No. 52 (TR-52), Bowie Resources LLC is proposing to drill thirteen methane degas
wells in support of future mining in the northern section of the permit area, around Sheep Corral Gulch and
Dove Gulch. Along with the drill holes, there will be about 22.5 acres of surface disturbance from the
construction of associated drill pads and light use roads. Also included in TR-52 is a generic drilling mud pit
design for the incised pits that will hold the drilling fluids. Right of entry is through Federal Coal Lease
COC-61209. All of the disturbance proposed in TR-52 is on land that is managed by the USDA-Forest
Service. All of the proposed disturbance is within the approved permit area and will be bonded for
reclamation.
This revision is available for review at the Paonia Public Library, 140 Grand Avenue, Paonia, CO 81428.
If you have any questions, please contact me.
Sincerely,
. f, L
J seph J. dash
nvironmental Protection Specialist
JJD/Jrc
C-6-01 C1996083 JJD 12282007101251.doc
Office of Office of
Mined Land Reclamation Denver • Grand Junction • Durango Active and Inactive Mines
