Bowie still wants to proceed with TR-53 as submitted. Permitting wise, MR-86 doesn't affect TR-53
at all. Bowie wants to keep their options open at this time. So please continue to work on TR-53 and bond for both wells.
Thanks!
From: Stark, Jim
Sent: Thursday, February 21, 2008 10:51 AM
To: Dudash, Joe
Cc: Brown, Sandy
Subject: Bowie No. 2 MR-86 and TR-53
Joe,
I placed a reclamation cost estimate for the Bowie No. 2 Mine's MR-86 in your in-box. This estimate is for the
monitoring well into the D-Seam workings to determine if there is any water present. This well is, apparently, the well
that Bowie has also requested approval for in TR-53. It is my assumption that the estimate for the well in MR-86, at this
time, satisfies the bonding requirement for the well requested in TR-53. If this is not correct, please let me know.
In TR-53, BRL states that they may drill an additional dewatering well (in addition to the monitoring well), install a
pump at the well and run pipe from the well, under the Hubbard Creek road, down to Hubbard Creek. I have not
completed an estimate for this work at this time. Do you want me to complete this estimate or is the Division going to
wait and see if Bowie encounters any water in the D-Seam prior to completing TR-53? Please let me know how you want
me to proceed at this point.
