Sorenson: <br />Thank you for your correspondence dated November 24, 2009 (received by our office on November <br />30, 2009; additional map received on December 16, 2009) regarding the subject project. <br />A search of the Colorado Cultural Resource Inventoq database indicates that several culnu'nl resource <br />inventories have been conducted near the proposed project area and at least one historic property is <br />located nearby. Site KC 1745, the Champion Comstock Mine was recorded in 1990 by to Division of <br />Reclamation, Mining, and Safety. It was recommended that additional data were needed in order to <br />assess its eligibility for the National Repster of Historic Places (NR! 1p). We recommend that the <br />operator avoid this site or that additional inventor, be conducted to detemune whether or not it is <br />eligible for the NRHP. If site avoidance is not possible, we recommend further consultation with out <br />office in order to identify options to avoid, muhumvc, or mitigate the adverse effect to the sites. <br />Should human remains be discovered duruhg mining activities the requirements under State law CRS <br />24 -80 part 13 apply and must be followed. <br />'Thank you for the opportunity to comment.
