I ? - A
0 ?St?_ V?-
Sandy Brown
Marcia Talvetti
Dan Mathews
-?, Z009
RE: Permit Revision to the New Horizon Mine Permit No. C-81-008. The Permit Revision is to
change the post-mining land uses of certain portions of land, change the surface water ditch and
pond system, address final backfilling and grading of the mine, address Prime Farmland in the
Permit area. The revision pertains to an area within Section 1,6,31,and 36.
Dear Sandy, Marcia, and Dan:
Here we go again. Do you remember when Ross said he was going to overwhelm us with paper
work and that we could work with him on ideas and proposals and he would keep us well
informed and the roads of communication open? Do you remember when we were going to be
able to at least look at the revision before it went to you so that some things might be able to
worked out? Well, as usual, he did not and we have not heard a word about this since that day
and there were no discussions, no paperwork, nothing until we received the packet and it came
out in the paper that day.
We are strongly opposed to the Permit-Revision and we are filing a formal, certified objection.
First, NONE OF OUR LAND, THE MORGAN PROPERTY IS GOING TO BE RETURNED
TO DRYLAND PASTURE OF POTENTIAL CROP LAND! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! Again, We state, none
of this land is going to be put back into dryland pasture.
There are certain laws governing PRIME FARMLAND and somewhere, Someone can put a
stop to this. This is very wrong!!! I guess if it means that we have to end up going to Denver, I
guess we will because none of this prime farmland is going to be put into dryland or potential
irrigated cropland.
Ross even stated in front of you telling you, along with us, that he would be working with us
before a new revision came out. He didn't. Again, he spends months and months preparing
documents which we have just a few days to read 139 pages and write an objection as if we don't
have anything else to do. He gets paid for sitting in front of the computer for hours on end, we
have real jobs and have very little time to read this nonsense besides having to analyze it and
write a response. Fighting for what is right over and over. Your laws and regulations state that
they are suppose to put it back as good as it was, we should never have to keep fighting for it.
If you can't be dazzled with Brilliance, you will be Baffled with BULLSHIT!. I've always heard
that said, just didn't know quite what it meant.
Facts: Home made weather station. This is mounted on a building next to another building,
concrete sidewalks, etc. Not even close to a proper setting. Scientist from CSU and many other
Universities spend years and years preparing proper data and making sure the ET readings are as
accurate as humanly possible. ET equations most often used in Colorado are the Penman and
