,? 2_(0
Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety
1313 Sherman Street
Room 215
Denver, Colorado F, V IE D
80203
DEC 1 D 2009
Attention: Sandy Brown
Dw - 'Saf ation,
Marcia Talvetti Mining g arcSaf
Dan Mathews ety
RE: Permit Revision to NO: C-81-008
This letter is in reference to the above permit revision as it concerns the Frank Morgan
property. I am opposed to the permit revision. Western Fuels agreed to return the
Morgan's land to its pre-mined condition. In this revision to the permit, WF wants to
turn part of the land to dryland. WF is trying to prove that the Morgans don't have
enough water to return it all to irrigated cropland. The Morgans only leased 50 shares of
water to WF to go with this approximately 100 acres. However when the Morgans are
ready to farm it again, they can use some of their many other shares of water to have
plenty of water for all of the 100 acres to be irrigated cropland. The Morgans produce a
large part of the quality hay for sale in this area. Please deny this revision. Let the
Morgans grow hay on all of their irrigated cropland. They have done a great job in the
past and will continue to do so in the future if WF will do as they agreed to do.
Sincerely,
Dan C. Cooper
I
