Carbon Junction Mine.
As discussed with Ms. Janet Keylor of WQCD, the sediment ponds and attendant
discharge points were reclaimed in December 2008 in accordance with the
requirements of Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety permit C-92-080,
therefore there will be no future discharges from the outfall points. The ponds were
reclaimed by backfilling and regrading, topsoiling, mulching, and reseeding. The DMR's are
being filed to maintain compliance until the CDP5 permit is terminated. The CDPHE
CDP5 permit was requested to be terminated October 14, 2008 in the application to
Ms. Loretta Houk of CDPHE WQCD.
Please contact me if you have any questions.
C: Tom Kaldenbach, CDRM*
Bryan Duff, Goff Engineering and Surveying
Sandra Pautsky, Oakridge Energy, Inc.
