This is an illegal fill project in a completed gravel mine.
Asphalt Specialties was required to sample the fill in nine random locations. Nine holes were
drilled, and each hole had three composite samples taken.
Please feel free to comment.
To satisfy the violation Asphalt Specialties has made application for a Certificate of Designation.
This Department will, in all probability, schedule this fill project as a case in two weeks. If
Development Review decides to continue this as a Certificate of Designation or Conditional Use
Permit there will be a referral made to agencies, including the Division of Reclamation, Mining
& Safety.
While at the site I noted the groundwater relief trench had a healthy gpm flow in it. I estimate
50gpm. I have enclosed several pictures for your use.
Sincerely,
Craig Te smer
Environmental Analyst
BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
W. R.
