cres Southern Pond
Permit Area: 34.34 Acres Mining Area es New Paved Access
es Buffer Area (Existing
4. The top two to six inches of topsoil material sholl be stripped from
mining area, stockpile areas, processing areas, and site haul roads. The
topsoil shall be stockpiled in buffer areas adjacent to mining operations
and used for site reclamation. Topsoil stockpiles in place for one year
or more shall be seeded using the reclamation seed mix.
5. Reclamation topsoil placement, mulching, seeding and fertilizing shall
be performed as sand and gravel is mined from the permit area. See
Reclamation plans for additional details.
6. Mining for the sand and gravel will require the use of pumps to
remove groundwater from the excavation pit` area. The dewatering
operations will progress along with the mining operations as they move
through the site. Groundwater will be pumped and discharged into
settlement pond(s) prior to discharge off of the project site and into
the 33 Road Drain ditch located along the project's west property line.
The discharge points will be approved by the State of Colorado. The
appnovaed discharge will be monitored prior to release, in accordance
with State permit requirements.
7. (Haul roods depicted on this drawing may be adjusted or relocated
as necessary to promote safe mining and access practices. Haul roads
shall' be covered with clean grovel as required to control dust. Haul
roads, stockpiles, and other disturbed areas shall be kept damp, covered,
or chemically treated with magnesium chloride, as required, to control
dust.
8. Access to and from the mining operations shall be from the
approved N01 access at 32 112 Road only.
9. Mining for sand and gravel shall not extend past the buffer limits
established on the project drawings, unless otherwise noted. In no case
shall the rock crusher be located within 500 feet on a residential
dwelling.
10. All sand and gravel highwall mining located within 100' of the
Permit Boundary shall be cut at a maximum 3:1 slope. This restriction
has been placed to minimize the risk of slope failure.
11. Mining for sand and gravel material is anticipated to require a
total of 5 years to mine, deplete material stockpiles, and complete site
reclamation work.
