RECLAMATION MINING & SAFETY <br />Sheridan, CO 80110 <br />Re: Ca1X Minerals LLC operations at the Mid-Continent Quarry" <br />Dear Mr. Miller: M 199 _ /0 <br />The Bureau of Land Management is writing in response to CaIX Mineral's recent proposal to conduct <br />quarrying and rock grinding activities at the Mid-Continent Quarry. These activities would be permitted <br />under the permit and claims purchased from Pitkin Iron and would be subject to the stipulations in the <br />1982 Environmental Assessment and the approval letter to Mid-Continent Resources dated August 18, <br />1982. In addition, the BLM is requesting the following from CaIX Minerals as part of approval of their <br />operations: <br />1. Provide proper signage, road maintenance, and dust abatement from the base of the Transfer Trail <br />to the quarry. <br />2. Locate the mill facility and silo behind the ridgeline and paint these structures Yuma Green. <br />3. Remove the two existing BLM yellow gates in the operating area and return to the BLM. <br />4. Notify and coordinate blasting events with Glenwood Caverns. <br />5. During winter operations, maintain a snow berm along the road for winter recreation access to the <br />trails above. Participate in future discussions with the BLM, USFS, and Glenwood Caverns to <br />address recreation issues such as access and safety. <br />6.
