Sherman
Executive Director
ald W. Cattany
Division Director
Natural Resource Trustee
M-2004-084, Approval of 112
On June 9, 2009 the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety approved the Technical Revision application
submitted to the Division on June 3, 2009, addressing the following:
• Revise mine plan to allow importation of materials to aid in meeting material specification required for
certain jobs, specifically, adobe soils and gravel.
• Revise mine plan to allow importation of boulders and rip rap.
• Revise mine to allow importation of both asphalt and concrete to be crushed and recycled into road base.
The terms of the Technical Revision No. 01 approved by the Division are hereby incorporated into Permit No. M-
2004-084. All other conditions and requirements of Permit No. M-2004-084 remain in full force and effect.
Staff calculations estimate the total cost to reclaim the site to be $83,726.00, rounded off to $83,730.00. This is a
total increase of $17,930.00 over the currently held bond amount of $65,800.00. The estimate is based on the
increased reclamation liability associated with Technical Revision No. 01 and the conditions observed during the
May 13, 2009 inspection. Benson Brothers must submit and have accepted the Financial Warranty for the
technical revision to the permit to become active. Please review the estimate carefully,. Should there be any
questions or corrections contact staff immediately. For questions regarding bond placement please contact
Elizabeth Taliaferro at phone no.
