Transfer of Permit and Succession of Operators (SO-02); Weather Delay
Dear Mr. Hendricks,
The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (Division) approved the Transfer of Permit and
Succession of Operators (SO-02) for the Hopemore Shaft and Leadville Mill, Permit No. M-1990-035,
on April 6, 2009.
Calais Resources Colorado, Inc. did not waive the right to a 30-day processing time and submitted a
replacement Financial Warranty for the same dollar amount as the Financial Warranty maintained by the
previous operator. The Division is required to inspect the site and recalculate the required reclamation
bond within 60-days from the date the transfer is complete. The required date to inspect the site is June
5, 2009. However, due to the current weather conditions the inspection must be postponed until it is
feasible for the Division to access the site and recalculate the required reclamation bond.
The Hopemore Shaft inspection is scheduled for June 18, 2009 at 10:00am.
