Cattany
Craig
CO 81626 Division Director
, Natural Resource Trustee
RE: Trapper Mining, Inc., 2008 Annual Reclamation Report, TR-104, Adequacy Review
Dear Mr. Roberts,
The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety (Division) have reviewed Trapper Mining
Inc.'s 2008 Annual Reclamation Report, TR-104. Trapper Mining Inc. submitted the report in
accordance with Rule 2.04.13. Upon review of the above referenced report the Division has the
following comment:
1. Section 5.0 of the above referenced report discusses the Topsoil Stockpile Locations. This
section states that there are 72 existing topsoil stockpiles at Trapper affecting 179.7 acres and
storing approximately 3,862,313 cubic yards of salvaged topsoil. This statement is in contrast
to Table 5-1 which lists only 70 existing topsoil stockpiles.
If there are indeed 72 existing topsoil stockpiles at Trapper, these two additional stockpiles will
need to be added to the total topsoil piles affected acreage and the total amount of cubic yards
salvaged.
2. The 2008 final regrade area delineated on Map 1, Sheet 2 as F-AB-08 does not appear to match
the Post Mining Topography Map M12 approved 7/29/2008. Contour elevation lines at 7450'
and 7400' and areas at the southern end of the F-AB-08 area do not approximate the contours
of the Post Mining Topography Map M12. Please assure the Division that final regarded
topography agrees with the approved post mining contours shown in permit map M12.
Please submit the requested information by the regulatory timeframe.
If you have any questions feel free to contact me.
