?'?C-SOV?iCC-S
March 10, 2009
Mr. Dale Case
Land- Use Director
Boulder County
P.O. Box 471
Boulder, Colorado 80306
Reference: Your Letter Dated March 04, 2009 / Ron Cattany - DRMS

Dear Dale:
The purpose of my call to you several weeks ago was to set up a meeting at your
office in Boulder to begin discussions on the Gold Hill Mill idea. The reason Matt
Collins went to work on this idea with the DRMS was to see if it was viable and
workable with the State fast. This was a step by step process that we felt would be
appropriate with all permitting agencies including Boulder County. We had not
entered into any contract with the Gold Hill Mill to mill our Cross Mine ores.
Calais Resources has been working non-stop since our own permitting
procedure last fall to raise the funding to build our new facilities at the Cross Mine.
That effort continues non-stop. We are close to placing the Cross Mine back into
very limited high grade production at the rate of 50 tpd to help generate badly
needed cash flow, through existing permitted facilities. It would only take us 3
months to have the mine ready for this small scale production. Since the Gold Hill
MA was idle, and owned by Mt. Royale Ventures, we looked at this idea as a
possible site to mill ore at, subject to full permit approval. We also felt it would
return workers to the Gold Hill site that had been laid off this past fall. We hold a
good deal of respect for Matt Collins and his crews and the professional way they
ran their facility.
Since your letter has specifically stated this future possibility is not to be
approved, we will terminate any further permit discussions with the Mt. Royale and
with your office on this idea.
Both Dave Youn and I would like to meet with you to discuss and update you
on our future plans r the Cross Gold Mine and provide you with a status report.
Sincerely, ?
Tom Hen ricks
Vice Presi en -
CC: Mr. Matt Collins, Mount Royal Ventures/Mr. Ron Cattany DRMG/Mr. Dave
Young, President-Calais Resources Inc./Mr. John R.
