Trustee
Spnngfield,
Re: Technical Revision to Increase Limit of Disturbed AC>reSge Allowed on Active
Baca County 112e Permits
Dear Baca County Commissioners:
On December 19, 2007 the Division of .Reclamation, Mining and Safety considered your
request to adjust the total acres of allowable disturbance at one time. Currently the
maximum allowable acreage value for the attached active 112c permits operated by Baca
County is 10 acres. This means that at any point in time disturbance on these sites cannot
exceed 10 acres at the present time.
Inquiries were made to the Division as to the possibility of increasing the maximum
allowable acreage value from the current 10 acres to 20 acres. As a result, the Division has
deliberated, and decided to sanction a one-time Technical Revision (increasing the
maximum allowable acreage value from the current 10 acres to 20 acres) to be submitted
on behalf of only these active (attached) 112c sites. This Technical Revision would be
applicable over all 8 sites, but the County would only be required to submit one fee for this
single Technical Revision in the amount of $216,00.
If you have any questions, please contact me at (303) 866-4179.
Sincerely,
D E.
Environmental Protection Specialist
Enclosure(s): DRMS Permit System Records - Mining Plan and Acreage Commitment
cc: Kristin Rau, Baca County Administrator, 741 Main Street, Springfield, CO 81073
Tony Waldron, DRMS
Office of Office of
