The NOI in question approves the construction
of a weather monitoring station on private property held by US Energy Corp. The weather
station is planned for construction at the Lucky Jack project site within the Crested Butte
Municipal Watershed. Please find enclosed a copy of the NOI and a letter of final approval from
DBMS.
We write to inquire if the Lucky Jack Project has also received a municipal watershed permit
from the Town of Crested Butte pursuant to the Crested Butte Municipal Watershed Ordinance
(Ordinance No. 6, Series 2008) and Section 31-15-707(1)(b) Colorado Revised Statutes? We
would appreciate records and/or copies of all correspondence, application documents, analyses
or permits issued by the Town of Crested Butte for the proposed weather station. If the Lucky
Jack Project has not, in fact, applied for a watershed permit High Country Citizens' Alliance
requests that the Town of Crested Butte initiate discussions with the Lucky Jack Project to assure
that this project is in compliance with the Crested Butte Municipal Watershed Ordinance.
We appreciate your time and attention on this matter.
