Cattany
To: Janet Binns / Division Director
From: Kent Gorham ?K Natural Resource Trustee
CC: Dan Hernandez
Subject: Well Abandonment, Marr Mine, C-80-006
Date: September 24, 2008
While roaming about in and around the Marr Mine I noticed some structures in Bush Draw that I
thought might be related to AVF investigations in the early days of the mine development.
After review of the permit, I am satisfied that these specific structures in Bush Draw are likely
not mine related. However, pages 822-6 to 822-8 of the permit (Volume 2) do speak to seven
monitoring points around the greater mine area. The points are not shown on Map 5a of the
permit but can be generally located on this map.
I would recommend that we ask Energy Fuels to demonstrate that these wells have been
abandoned and reports filed prior to final bond release.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Office of Office of
Mined Land Reclamation Denver • Grand Junction • Durango Active and Inactive Mines
