Sherman
Executive Director
Ronald W. Cattany
Division Director
Natural Resource Trustee
On June 23, 2008 the Division of Reclamation Mining and Safety (DRMS) received Yellowcake
Mining, Inc. correspondence lifting the confidentiality provisions as required under SB-08-228. JBR
also submitted and the Division received electronic copies of the non-confidential application forms on
June 24, 2008. Therefore, the above referenced Notices of Intent are SB-08-228 compliant. The 228
compliance was the only outstanding issue noted in the June 17 cover letter sent with the site inspection
reports.
Staff had begun the calculations of reclamation liability. The first initial calculations done by staff
varied from those submitted by JBR. JBR used some tasks and costs not necessarily used on an average
Notice estimate by DRMS. These differences were resulting in the Division's estimates coming in
lower than those submitted with the application. Staff was beginning the process of reconciling the
differences with BLM concurrence when JBR contacted the Division on June 26, 2008. Based on those
discussions, Yellowcake Mining has opted to use the submitted reclamation liability estimates, which
are higher, rather than wait for staff calculations. BLM has concurred that they will accept the JBR
submitted estimates as well. Therefore the Uravan-Beck Drilling _projcts P-1 through P-10 as noted
above are considered complete.
Office of Office of
Mined Land Reclamation Denver - Grand Junction - Durango Active and Inactive Mines
