Cattany <br />Division Director <br />Natural Resource Trustee <br />The Division proposed to transfer the Lorencito Canyon Mine coal mining and reclamation permit, <br />No. C-1996-084 to New Elk Coal Company, LLC from Lorencito Coal Company, LLC on June 9, 2008. <br />The Surface coal mine is located in Las Animas County, approximately 3 miles West of Segundo on Hwy <br />12. The coal to be mined is under Private ownership and the surface is under Private ownership. A copy <br />of the proposed decision is enclosed. <br />In accordance with Rule 2.08.6(6), any person with an interest which may be adversely affected by the <br />proposed decision may request a formal hearing before the Mined Land Reclamation Board within thirty <br />(30) days of this notice by the Division. <br />If you have any questions, please contact me. <br />Sincerely, <br />Kent A.
