Staff has calculated the initial reclamation liability for the proposed increase of the
mine using information within the application and information submitted by 3B Enterprises, LLC. The estimate
is based on what it would cost the state to hire a contractor to reclaim the site if the bond was forfeited and
not necessarily what it would cost 3B Enterprises to do the work.
Staffs estimate for the proposed reclamation of the site is $40,582.00, rounded off to $40,600.00. The
calculation is for the existing pit and the proposed additional lot located to the east and does not account for
any disturbance in the proposed lot across ls` Street to the west of the existing pit. The Division must be
notified prior to any disturbance in the west lot for a recalculation of the bond to account for additional
reclamation liability. Please review the estimate carefully. Should there be any questions or corrections
contact staff immediately.
If you need additional information, please contact me at the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety,
Grand Junction Field Office, 101 S. 3rd St., Suite 301, Grand Junction, Colorado 81501, telephone no.
970.623.5596.
Sincerely,
Travis Marshall
Environmental Protection Specialist, Grand Junction Field Office
Cc: Carl Mount, Senior Environmental Protection Specialist, North Team Supervisor.
Office of Office of
Mjned Land Reclamation Denver Grand Junction Durango Active and Inactive Mines
_ r
