m?-ly,77-- _,76
Tony Waldron
Department of Natural Resources
Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, CO. 80203
Hi Tony,
RECOVED
08/05/08 AUG 0 6 2008
Division o, meciamation,
Mining and safety
Sorry I missed you yesterday! I did have a nice visit with Jared Ebert.
He is a very good and competent employee for you. The reason for my visit
was to ask some questions about the Al Frei Gravel operation, which
surrounds us on three sides.
In the past, we have had a fairly good relationship with Al. We prefer to
get along good with our neighbors. We don't want to have a fight or bad
words between us.
A little over 2 years ago, they started a dewatering process to be able to
dig down much deeper into one of their old pits. We were unhappy about
this decision, fearing that it might damage our deep well. We thought that
when they hit the first layer of rock (blue shale) they would stop going on
down. They have now punctured the blue shale and are continuing to dig
deeper. Pumping this water out and putting it into the river. If they go much
deeper it certainly will destroy our beautiful well and destroy our business.
How deep are they allowed to go?
It would be good to see you again, Tony. Please stop by, if you can.
Sincerely,
S.H. Bud Scott
13185 Brighton Road V
Brighton, CO. 80601
