I have reviewed
the proposed sampling plan and find that it meets the requirements of collecting baseline date in
accordance with Rule 2.04.10. The proposed baseline sampling for the projected mine expansion permit
revision is also in agreement with the Division's "Guidelines for Compliance with Land Use and
Vegetation Requirements of the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board for Coal Mining" (October
1988).
The Division has no comments or recommended changes to add to the proposed sampling plan. Thank
you for proving the Division an opportunity to review the proposed sampling plan prior to baseline data
collection.
Sincerely,
;Janet H. inns
Environm ntal Protection Specialist II
03) 866- 944
Cc: Lindsey Brant, Habitat Management
Office of Office of
Mined Land Reclamation Denver • Grand )unction • Durango Active and Inactive Mines
