This facility has been granted DRMS
permit M-2002-004. GCC received this request for information in the first part of March, 2008.
Among other things the DRMS has requested the following:
• Labeling of on-site monitor wells;
• Additional sampling and analysis of groundwater from on-site monitor and production wells;
• Proposed location of an additional groundwater monitoring well between the production
facility and the St. Charles River;
• Design information pertaining to GCC's onsite water treatment plant;
• Information regarding construction "as-built" changes to the production facility.
GCC has made much progress with regard to developing responses to these items. Groundwater
monitoring wells MW-OOIA, MW-002, MW-003, and MW-004 have all been labeled. Sampling
of groundwater monitoring wells MW-002, MW-003, and MW-004 has been completed.
Sampling of monitoring well MW-OOIA was attempted but was determined to be dry and thus
was not sampled. Groundwater production wells DW-O1 and DW-021ocated within the plant
area have also been sampled. These groundwater samples are currently being analyzed and
complete results should be available soon.
GCC has also determined potential locations for an additional groundwater monitoring well
between the production plant and the St. Charles River. GCC is in the process of obtaining
contractor bids for performing this work. However, prior to well installation, GCC would like to
discuss the poteraLial location of the well with the Division for their input. We look forward to
this discussion and the finalization of this work.
While GCC is in the process of gathering requested information on the onsite water treatment
plant, this activity is not yet complete. Construction on the water treatment plant has not been
fully completed and this facility is not yet operational. GCC will continue the information
gathering process with regard to the water treatment plant as well as continue to update the
Division with regard to the status of this facility. The Division's request for the facility "as-
