Mount Royale Ventures, LLC would like to express our disappointment in our nomination for the participation in the Slide Mine VCUP reclamation project not even being considered for the 2007 Hazdrock Reclamation Awazds. As explained by Sandra Brown of the Division, MRV's nomination was not considered by the Board because of the status of the project as a voluntary cleanup overseen by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. The Board's explanation is lacking for several reasons. These include: - Past winners of these awazds include numerous VCUP projects, most recently the 2005 winner -Burlington Mine VCUP. - The CDPHE VCUP status does not negate the voluntary participation by Mount Royale Ventures, LLC - anon-stakeholder in the VCUP (MRV had no obligation to perform this cleanup and did so only as a ge:~erous mining operator in the district). - MRV is engaged in active mining and reclamation, holding two (2) operating permits and two (2) prospecting permits from the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety which have received past awards. - The notice for the 2007 Hazdrock Reclamation Awazds cleazly states: "The MLRB Awards competition is open to any individual company or government entity engaged in the mining and reclamation of hardrock properties". MRV certainly falls into this category and the Slide cleanup was certainly reclamation of a hazdrock mining property. 1-~ardrock Reclamation Question.doc
