Based both on the location and type of action being proposed, the Division believes impacts to the wildlife
resource will be negligible.
As the operation commences, we recommend vigilance for treatment of noxious weeds, to further prevent their
spread and issues with adjoining property owners. Stockpiling topsoil and replacing it when possible, will aid in
reclamation.
Upon cessation of operations at this site, returning the slopes to match the surrounding topography and seeding
with appropriate native seed mixtures, will allow for return of the site to normal range conditions. Your local
Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) office can provide site specific recommendations for plant
restoration.
We appreciate being given the opportunity to comment. Please feel free to contact us at (719) 227-5200 if you
have any questions or require additional information.
Sincerely, _ -
~~
Shaun Deeney
Area Wildlife Manager
xc: File
SE Regional Office
DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES, Hams D.
