The county did some minor backfilling in the old
excavation site as part of some reclamation. The county has also hauled a couple
thousand tons of rock and roto-milled asphalt to the pit that will be crushed at a later
date.
San Juan County has plans to have between 5000 and 10,000 tons of gravel crushed in
.July 2003. We plan on crushing the old spoils pile from pastscreening and the hauled in
materials and the rest excavated from the pit azea. We will not excavate from the old
excavation azea and backfilled azea. This v~ be the last time that any gravel will be
produced from this site. ~"py
The county will start some reclamation in the fall of 2003 and will submit a revised
mining and reclamation plan in the fall of 2003 also.
