MSHA personnel have
reviewed the submitted material and consider the abandonment of the
refuse pile complete and will remove the refuse pile data from our
active mine files.
This abandonment is based on the CTL/THOMPSON, INC's report. The
final refuse pile structure was contoured and graded in a manner to
prevent the future impoundment of water. No stability hazards were
noted.
Three structures are still listed in our current mine file for the
New Elk Mine, ID No. OS-00296. Please advise this office on the
status of these sites and if abandonment plans will be submitted
for these sites.
