Cattany
, Division Director
Natural Resource Trustee
RE: Blue Ribbon Mine, Permit No. C-81-047, Minrec, Inc.
2005 Annual Reclamation Report, Adequacy Review
Deaz Mr. Stover:
The Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology (Division) has finished its review of Minrec's
2005 Annual Reclamation Report (ARR) for the Blue Ribbon Mine. The Division thanks Minrec
for its timely submittal.
The Division notes that the ARR accurately reflects the transfer of 2.8 acres of disturbed land to
Oxbow Mining in 2005, 2.3 acres of which had been reclaimed and 0.5 acres of which are still in
facilities. The report also shows that no reclamation activities occurred in 2005.
The Division does not have any adequacy questions but does have one request. Rule
2.04.13(I)(f) requires that the location, number of acres and the date of planting for all areas that
underwent permanent seeding prior to the report year be shown. The purpose of the information
required in this rule is to document those areas that have gone through the ] 0-yeaz liability
period. Even though all of the disturbed acreage has exceeded the 10-year liability period, it
would still be important to compare the revegetation efforts relative to the date of planting. The
Division requests that Minrec submit an appropriately annotated map that shows the information
required in Rule 2.04.13(1)(f). This map should also be included in future ARRs.
If you have any questions, please call me.
Sincerely,
r~ l~l
sep J.
