As you know, MCC has
encountered significant mine inflows (as much as 2,500 gpm) while mining through a
fault/fracture system in the B Seam. At this point there is some question as to whether or
not this inflow water has been lumped/discharged to underground workings within the West
Elk Mine. Bear Mine has requested the Divisions assistance in determining if this mine
inflow water has encroached upon there adjacent property, due to the fact that they have
recently experienced inflows, whereas in the past they have been completely dry.
~'
tkliS issue, Henry
~'~fee#;,s3~o the
On June 13, 1996 Kathy Welt stated to me that no water has been pumped over and
Bumped in the area of concern, which is located in the 4th, 5th, and 6th Northwest
Headgates adjacent to and hydraulically upgradient of the Bear Mine. She stated that all
water encountered in the mine has been discharged to the surface. ~blley
are sec ~~~ - -- ~.~ -~° "~.Se,r~'~~aa Mk.iFetl'~tet
v,~ ;area f~e,>an ~~~. t
~~iat. t~s.esaa, t~e~€st~ vzater alas ~ee~p
