The Colorado bivision of Minerals and Geology review of <br />the final report on revegetation am the test plots axmcludal that additional information <br />was required on the physical and chemical nature of the topsoil, non-to:ic non- <br />onmt+uctible cover (Nl'NCC), and the coal refuse. Aocnrding to CDMG, this <br />information would assist in determination of tha suitability of lesr than four feet of <br />cover. Western ,Fuels requested that Savage and Savage, Inc. submit a ptvposal for <br />sampling, analyzing, and reporting on the physical and chemical characteristics of the <br />ropsoil, Ni'NCC, and coal refuse in the ncvegctation test plots at the llescrado Mine. <br />The scope of the investigations are detailed below and are consistent with the suggested <br />sampling rogirtte offered by Mr- Dan Mathews (CDMC) in his June 14, 1996 <br />correspondttrcc_ <br />$~OP~OF ~ERVICIS <br />Savage and Savage proposes three tacks to undertake and complete the project outlined <br />above. 77tc clcmenu of the ptx+jea:t inc:(ude the sampling of soil, NCNCC, and coal <br />refuse at the Descrado Reveaetation Test Plots, laboratory analysis of the specified <br />physical and chemical properties and attendant evahtation of the results, and <br />paparation of a summary report addressing the rrsults of the sampling,. <br />Task t: Field Saurpting of the ICctc~etation Text Pots r <br />Savage and Savage proposes to samplt the topsoil. non Toxic rwn combustible cover `d(1'" <br />and coal refisse within each of the designated test plots.
