Lenz
Subject: August Monthly Operating Report
Mill Operations
1.1 Crushing
Approximately 114,275 wet tons of ore were crushed
in August. Operating availability of the primary
crusher was 85.2$. Throughput was restricted by the
poor condition of conveyor CV-O1. Installation of
impact saddles changed the required specification
for the conveyor belting and rendered the existing
belt to be below the new specification. The belt
deteriorated rapidly and an order was placed for a
higher quality belt. Installation of trie new belt
will occur in September.
1.2 Grinding
124,379 dry tons of ore were ground during July.
Operating availability of the plant increased to 88.60$
this month. Average plant throughput for the month
increased to 189 tons per hour. Major downtime was caused
by replacement of broken SAG mill liners, revulcanizing
CV-02, and dressing the ball mill ring and pinion gears
due to metal migration.
The thickener was put on line near mid-month. The slow
settling characteristics of the East Pit ore required
high flocculent use. The modifications made to the
thickener circuit have been successful and the thickener
is operating well. A liquid flocculent evaluation
