~II I~~II~~III'~~ ~~~
STATE OF OLORADU
Roy Romer, Governor
DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES
MINED LAND RECLAMATION DIVISION
DAVID C. SHELTON, Director
DATE: 27 August 1987
T0: Dan Mathews ~ _
FROM: Jim Pendleton
RE: Twnetymil oal Comp - Foidel Creek Mine (Permit No: C-82-056)
987 S nual Subsidence Survey Report
Pursuant to your request, I have reviewed the above referenced semi-annual
subsidence monitoring report. The data depicts minor subsidence occurring
above a portion of the 1st Panel South off the 1st Main West of the Foidel
Creek underground mine. Subsidence monuments SM-26 through SM-30 show from
0.3 to 1.0 foot of vertical movement. These monuments overlie that portion of
the 1st Panel South which had been completely retreat mined prior to the June,
1987 survey. Monuments SM-31 through SM-39, which overlie a portion of the
same panel which has been limited to partial extraction, show no subsidence tc
date. This verifies the projections included within the subsidence survey
portions of the approved application. The subsidence control plan was
developed to protect Routt County Road No. 27, and adjoining structures,
pipe]ines, power lines, etc. Subsequent surveys will verify the plan's
ultimate sufficiency.
The report and survey completed comply with the requirements of the approved
permit application, as amended.
cc: Bob Liddle
423 Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203-2273 Tel.
