Long
Dinsion Director
In your letter dated August 5, 1999 you asked if annual fees are applicable if the pit is not mined.
The answer is yes. Annual fees, and reports, are required for every mine in the state whether
active or not (temporary cessation, active or active but never mined).
However, if the site is never disturbed, you would not be required to reclaim it.
Prior to your anniversary date each year, you will be sent a notice (as a courtesy) to send in your
annual fee and report. You must do so by your anniversary date.
If you have any questions, please give me a call.
S' cerely, /~1 0 ~ ~`
l ~~ ~
James Llillie
Environmental Protection Specialist
