Price <br />Colorado Mined Land Reclamation <br />1313 Sherrtian St.: Roorn 215 <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br />Re: Annual Hydrologic Report <br />Munger and McClane Canyon Mines <br />Dear Mr. Price; <br />Mined Land <br />Reclamation Division <br />This report. on the mine inflows, discharges and probable <br />• hydrologic consequences for the next year is submitted in <br />compliance with the stipulations of Salt Creek's mining and <br />reclamation permit. As you are aware. production resumed at the <br />McClane Mine in late 1988 and has continued until this date with <br />only short term interruptions. The Munger Mine has remained idle. <br />This report shall first discuss the effect of McClane Canyon mine <br />on the local bedrock aquifer, next discuss the effect of Munger <br />Canyon mine. This report shall conclude with a discussion of the <br />cumulative effect of both mines on the hydrology of East Salt. <br />Creek. <br />McCLANE CANYON MINE <br />Mine History and Production <br />The McClane Canyon Mine began production in 1977. The mine ceased <br />production later that year when a fault was encountered. The mine <br />remained idle until 1980. Frorti 1977 thru 1982 the mine produced a <br />total of 18x.365 tons of coal. In 1983 the mine was idled and <br />remained under Division approved temporary cessation until <br />November 1988. In December of 1988; 3,995 tons of coal were <br />mined. In 1989; 141.200 tons of coal were produced. Production <br />from January tF,rougFi September of 1990 totalled 151,218 tons of <br />coal. Ii. is expected that approximately 140,000 tons of coal will <br />be mined in 1991. A mine workings map showing important <br />• hydrologic features is included as Figure 1. <br />
