Box 10
Sunnyside, Utah 84539
RE: Annual Hydrologic Monitoring Report, Colorado Coal Mine No. 1,
Permit No. C-81-024
Dear Mr. Koblitz:
I have completed a review of the 1988 Annual Hydrologic Monitoring Report for
Colorado Coal Mine No. 1. The report for the most part appears to satisfy the
requirements of Colorado P1ined Land Reclamation Division requirements agreed
upon the issuance of the permit and later revised in 1987.
However, the water quality data provided for ground well 82-2L shows a
significant increase in TDS level from 3860 mg/1 in March to 4890 in
September. There appears to be some inconsistency in the analysis of the
data. Please verify and respond as soon as possible.
Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
k~~-'~,~
BerAian Keffelew
Reclamation Specialist
BK/eke
6366E
'a
215 Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203-2273 Tel.
