The West Elk <br />Mine is an underground coal mine and the disturbed area covers the Life-of--mine facilities area and <br />several remote azeas. During the year of 2005 MCC achieved Phase I bond release on the Thermal <br />Event Area (SL-1, MR-311) and the Lone Pine Gulch Ventilation Facilities Areas (SL-2, MR-312), <br />for a total of approximately 17.5 acres. <br />During the calendar yeaz of 2005, MCC completed no permanent reclamation. All reclamation <br />activities were confined to those of interim reclamation. Attached is a report including photographs, <br />text, and maps showing the locations of permanently reclaimed areas in the Dry Fork, Thermal <br />Event and Lone Pine azeas.
