They indicated that there were some concerns on your part with respect to the <br />subsidence effects resulting from the proposed multiple seam mining. The Mine No. 6 <br />locally undermines previously mined areas in the overlying Mine No. 5. The No. 6 mine <br />undermines No. 5 Mine longwall panels and No. 5 Mine room-and-pillar panels. These <br />room-and-pillar panels have not been nor are there any plans to retreat mine these pillar <br />sections. <br />As you suggested, Empire Energy has requested that I submit to you, for your <br />comments, a brief summary of the proposed methodology for detel•mining the effects of <br />subsidence resulting from the No. 6 Mine. <br />502 MAIN ST. • P.
