Ci
~~-~~llv
Three copies of the above referenced report were hand delivered to
you on March 1, 1994 without a transmittal letter. This will serve
as this letter and a copy should be attached to each of the
reports.
As you will note, the report has been expanded to cover the
hydrologic and vegetation monitoring which was conducted in Fish
Creek and its alluvial valley floor, along with the standard
subsidence monitoring that has occurred at the mine. Please note
that full suite water quality data for selected monitoring sites
will be presented in TCC's annual hydrologic report to be submitted
in the near future. In the event that we have further software
problems and the AHR is delayed I will forward copies of the lab
sheets for inclusion in the subsidence report. My preference is
not to do this as it wastes paper and just adds to our respective
files.
As can be seen, wells GWB1, GWB2 and GWAP7 have shown impacts from
mining and subsiding the area. Due to subsidence well GWB2 was
replaced during December with well GWB2-R. Concurrent water level
readings were taken for both GWB2 and GWB2-R to establish that the
wells were responding appropriately. Well GWB2 will be grouted and
abandoned after you have an opportunity to inspect it later in the
spring. I would suggest we wait until June to abandon and grout
the well as this will make access easier into the site.
I look forward to receiving your comments on the report.
Sincerely,
Richard Mills
Manager, Surface/Environment
c~~us
